Christmas Services & Christingle
Advent Carol Service with Lights of Love
Advent begins with our annual Advent Carol Service at 6pm on either the last Sunday of November or First Sunday of December. The Service is held by candlelight with everyone being given a personal candle to hold during the service. There is a series of readings and carols, both choral and congregational.
On Christmas Eve Christingle comes to Brackley. There are three services during the afternoon (see the calendar for times) when we re-tell the story of the First Christmas and we sing carols, make up our Christmas Crib and light Christingles to remind us of Jesus saving love when he came to earth as a human baby. At the Christingle we take an offering for the work of The Children's Society, an organisation that works with children in real need in our own country and particularly with those who have run away from home.
Midnight Mass "On Christmas Eve"
The traditional sung commuinion service with all the splendour that the season deserves. The service begins at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day we hold the usual 8 am said Holy Communion using traditional lanuguage. At 10 am there is a Family Eucharist with a less formal feel including carols. We usually welcome many visiting friends and family at this and other services during the Christmas period.
The members of St Peter's Church assemble almost 1,000 Christingles every year!
