Vicar: The Reverend Nicholas J Gandy, OGS
As the parish priest of Brackley, Fr.Nicholas is responsible for the life of the parish and is the first port of call for all pastoral matters. He shares his work with the Ministry Team.
Before ordination Fr.Nicholas was a research microbiologist and a teacher. He has been in Brackley since 2003 having previously been vicar of St. Peter's, Didcot, Oxfordshire. Fr.Nicholas is a member of the Oratory of the Good Shepherd, a dispersed religious Community, dedicated to prayer, service and the spiritual life.
Hon. Assistant Priest : The Reverend Sylvia Lafford:
Sylvia was ordained in 2004 and served the parish of Yeading, Middlesex as a SSM until 2012, on taking early retirement in 2010, she was offered the post of part time Chaplain at Hillingdon Hospital on a 3 year contract.
On moving to Brackley in 2013 to be nearer her family she began to attend St Peter’s . Sylvia was granted permission to officiate in the Peterborough Diocese and became a member of the ministry team in early 2014.
Lay Pastoral Minister: Mrs Connie Coleman
Connie’s work is principally in the community, visiting people at home and in the Cottage Hospital and the Care Homes where she leads services. She facilitates the church’s Bereavement Care Group. She also organises excellent monthly Sunday lunches in church and is often seen in the kitchen at fundraising and social activities. Connie’s other loves are her family and her spaniel named Lucy. Connie previously worked as a library supervisor.
Reader & Sacristan: Mrs Marion Jones
As a reader Marion's work involves preaching and leading acts of worship. She also leads the Lighthouse Club and Living Big Club, and helps run Holiday Club each year. Marion is a principal contact between local schools and St Peter's. As sacristan she prepares for services in church . Prior to retirement Marion was a head teacher.
Churchwarden and Administrator and Children’s Worker: Mrs Val Lynam
In her role as Administrator, Val looks after wedding and baptism enquiries and bookings for the church and church hall. Val also runs First Steps for adults and young children on Thursdays. Val is the lead for Messy Church that meets once a month also helps run Holiday Club each year. Val’s children and grandchildren ensure she is kept up to date with the lives of children and their parents.
Churchwarden: Alan Perkins
After a career in the Navy and teaching, Alan combines his work as a churchwarden with his other activities, making jam and looking after gardens. He is also involved in Churches in Brackley and helps run the Brackley Foodbank.
Churchwarden: Paul Wiltshire
Paul is now full-time retired having previously served in both the RAF and the Police force. At St Peter's his focus is looking after the fabric of the building.
