About the Mothers' Union

Mothers Union is an international Christian Charity that seeks to support families worldwide.  St Peter's mothers Union is a very active group.  The main monthly meeting is on the third Thursday of each month at 2.00 in the Church Extension.

There are speakers on a wide range of subjects, tea and fellowship.  Mutual support is an important aspect of the group, as well as fund raising for many of the Mothers Union charitable projects and supporting the church's work with children and families.

Examples of activities in the UK is the current 'Bye, Buy Childhood' campaign against the commercialisation of childhood and the 'Away from it All' programme that helps provide holidays for families who need a break but can't otherwise afford one.

There are also strong international links and MU is very active around the world, particularly in Africa.

MU prayers are monthly on the fourth Thursday in the afternoon, and there is a special Eucharist for the Mothers Union on the first Tuesday of each month at 9.30am.
